Stuck – from January 1st
After the success of their never banal comedies, theater and TV success with Striscia, a new debut has arrived for the comedian-writer couple Ficarra and Picone, Incastrati, which arrives on the first day of the new year in 6 episodes on Netflix. The two, as usual, are friends and owners of a small appliance sales and repair company who travel around Sicily in their van and find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time, when they find themselves involved in a murder and the more they run away and the more they get into trouble, hunted down by justice and organized crime.
Rebelde – from January 5th
Welcome to EWS, the prestigious college where the arduous path to fame is not for everyone. Rebelde is the reboot of the popular Mexican teen soap opera that spawned two different soap operas in Argentina and Mexico in the early 2000s. Santiago Limón and Yibran Asaud direct the series that takes place in the corridors of the Elite Way School with a new generation of students , stories and characters. Over the course of eight episodes, Rebelde follows a group of students who go to great lengths to win the EWS Battle of the Bands, the race that could kickstart their musical career. Over the course of events, loves and friendships blossom as a mysterious secret society tries to thwart everyone’s dream of becoming the next music star.
The Journalist – January 13th
Adaptation of the 2019 feature film of the same name that has caused a great deal of hype for having turned the spotlight on the crimes and political scandals of recent years in Japan. The bewildering description of social taboos, compelling storytelling and elegant visuals earned The Journalist victory in three of the main categories at the 43rd Japan Academy Awards. Ryoko Yonekura (Doctor X, Legal V) plays Toto Newspaper reporter Anna Matsuda in this new series. The protagonist is known as the media maverick and works tirelessly to shed light on the problems of modern Japanese society.
Archive 81 – Alternative Universes – January 14th
Archive 81 – Alternative Universes follows archivist Dan Turner (Mamoudou Athie), who accepts the task of restoring a collection of damaged videotapes dating back to 1994. When he finds himself reconstructing the work of documentarian Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi), he involved in his investigation of a dangerous cult based in the Visser condominium. The season continues on two parallel timelines as Dan becomes increasingly obsessed with what happened to Melody. When the two characters form a mysterious bond, Dan is convinced that he can save her from the horrible end she suffered 25 years ago.
El marginal – from January 19th
After the fire in San Onofre, the fates of Pastor, Mario Borges and Diosito cross once more in the Puente Viejo prison. The meeting between Pastor and Diosito awakens strong emotions in both. César is transferred to the same institution and participates in the battle by leading the Sub21 group. Outside, Sergio Antín wants to take control of the prison and confronts the current warden, while Emma Molinari helps Pastor in a new and dangerous escape attempt.
Ozark, Season 4 – January 21st
The new season, divided into two parts, introduces at the end of the series about the Byrdes, a normal American family, who, forced to survive a gang of narcos, gradually enters – and apparently without return – in the world of organized crime. Played by Jason Bateman and Laura Finney, the series takes us to the court of the head of the Mexican narcos, where the two spouses are brought to deal directly with the affairs, after the killing of the lawyer who acted as intermediary with the cartel. What will happen to the Byrde?
The Woman in the House Across from the Girl at the Window – January 28th
Miniseries that combines different genres, crime, dramedy, satirical with Kristen Bell in the role of a woman who has a peaceful existence made of sipped wine glasses looking out the window. For the disconsolate Anna (Kristen Bell) the days are always the same and she spends them in the company of wine, staring out the window as she watches life go on without her. Until a charming neighbor (Tom Riley) moves across the street with his lovely daughter (Samsara Yett) and Anna begins to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But then he witnesses a horrible murder … or maybe not?
Came from the Cold – from January 28th
The life of a single mother from a provincial area of New Jersey is turned upside down when the FBI arrests her forcing her to make a choice: to become a weapon against drug trafficking from Russia and against the underground war in the US elections, facing a past now forgotten Russian agent trained and bioengineered, or jeopardizing her new life and the family she has built.
