How can you be “new” after so many editions?
Bruno Barbieri: «The truth is that after 11 years we have fun like crazy, then there are the challenges. New things happen every year and you are craving and hungry for this program. The initial part is fun because there is the choice of casting and we do it together “
Giorgio Locatelli: “We are the frontmen but there is a great job behind”
Antonino Cannavacciuolo: «True, thanks not only to those who are behind but also ahead, or rather our competitors. There will be tons of good stories to hear. As you know, the episodes are recorded, but I really want to review the work done ».
The lockdown has transformed us into “expert chefs”, is it something you have also encountered with the aspiring chefs who showed up at the auditions?
Barbieri: “Absolutely yes. In reality there is an evolution every year. Just look at the first Masterchefs, our level of judgment has changed. Even those who watch the program have changed, The audience that follows us is very interested, curious to see the challenges and hypothesize what will happen “

Are there any trendy foods or, as always, will you be the one to launch one?
Barbieri: “We do not want to reveal too much, but we have had many guests from around the world who have told a story of other ways of doing gastronomy that give many ideas, especially for how they have integrated their cuisine with the Italian one”.
Cannavacciuolo: “Ingredients from all over the world arrived, like you Bruno ate that product that you peeled and you shouldn’t have … (the chef is scolded by the other judges, no spoilers ed.) Today we talk a lot about herbs but in the end everyone knows the most common ones, such as chervil. In this edition, however, we have brought some very interesting ones, some we did not even know and in my opinion when that episode comes out many will start looking for it and using it ».
What moved you and what irritated you during the recordings of this edition?
Cannavacciuolo: «The story of these guys, because they put their life on the table. In some of them you see yourself and get excited. Instead, indifference irritates me. This year Bruno has become good … I even put you in my crib! “
Locatelli: “Antonino is a little irritated, the most surly is certainly Bruno”
