Covid, no quarantine for vaccinated with boosters
The rules for quarantine change, with three different categories: the aim is to avoid the paralysis of the country, which with a high number of people in isolation, because they are infected or come into contact with an infected person, risks ending up in a sort of ‘mini-lockdown’ also generated by continuous self-isolation of those who are negative.
Quarantines will no longer be provided for those vaccinated with boosters or with two doses of less than four months who come into contact with a person who then tested positive for Covid, if asymptomatic. In these cases, there will be a form of self-monitoring and the execution, on the fifth day of contact with the positive case, of a swab with negative results. For those who have performed the last vaccination for more than four months – therefore with less coverage from the infection – self-isolation would drop from 7 to 5 days, with a negative test.
No changes for those who are not vaccinated: the quarantine remains at 10 days.
Measures other than those on which the opinion of the Technical Scientific Committee was oriented: after a meeting that lasted several hours, the scientists had agreed to reset the quarantine, in these cases, only to vaccinated people employed in essential services – provided that they compulsorily wore the Ffp2 mask to about a week – and to reduce it to five days for vaccinated with boosters. In the control room, however, the Government accepted tout court the request of the Regions, which asked precisely for the elimination of self-isolation of the immunized.
Covid, super green pass for transport but not extended to workers
The front of those asking to extend the obligation of the super green pass to all categories of workers does not pass, despite the side of the Regions. And the rigorist line of those who like the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, on the basis of the opinions of the CTS and while agreeing on the changes to the rules on self-isolation, did not prevail, asked for rules that were not too bland.
Both in the control room and on the CDM the confrontation was tight: Pd and Forza Italia suffered the stop of the Lega and M5s on the launch of the obligation of a reinforced green certificate for all workers. The extension of the super green pass for workers could therefore only be addressed in the next Council of Ministers.
It super green pass (from February only for those who have been immunized with the last dose for no more than 6 months or recovered from Covid) it could become mandatory now also for long-distance travel, for participation in fairs or in ski lifts, even if they are still in progress insights on this issue.
Covid, controlled prices for Ffp2 masks
Agreement in the government to calm the price of Ffp2 masks: according to what is learned during the Council of Ministers, the issue was raised by the Minister of Defense, Lorenzo Guerini and the Democratic Party, followed by Stefano Patuanelli and Elena Bonetti. This is a “shared” proposal, and also supported by Forza Italia and Lega, which will now be in charge of the commissioner, which should enter into special agreements with pharmacies. It would only remain to verify whether a specific rule should also be included in the new Covid decree.
